Aurélia’s Oratorio will bring a
remarkable display of stage illusion to the
Irvine Barclay Theatre. This mainly
one-woman show draws inspiration from the
worlds of music halls, variety and circus to
create a concoction of illusion and
fantasy. Aurélia Theirrée, granddaughter of
Charlie Chapman, is a fearless acrobat with
a wry sense of comedy and an ethereal,
beguiling theatrical presence.
A pre-show reception hosted at the Phineas
Banning Alumni House will feature food by
Suzanne Beukema of Suzanne’s Catering and
wine from Crinella Vineyards, owned by UCI
faculty member Frank Crinella and his sister
Ramona.
