UCI, fellow chemists find a way to unboil eggs
UC Irvine and Australian chemists have figured out how to unboil egg whites – an innovation that could dramatically reduce costs for cancer treatments, food production and other segments of the $160 billion global biotechnology industry, according to the ChemBioChem journal.

If we can use the same technology to detect single cancer molecules, then that means we’d be able to find it extremely early,” chemistry professor, Greg Weiss says.

"What we do in the laboratory can alter people’s lives. I hope to spare other families the anguish mine went through. That’s my dream.” he states.
Weiss was motivated by the lung-cancer death of his father 11 years ago.
