About
the awards
Since
1971, UCIAA and its Board of Directors has
bestowed the association's highest honor,
Lauds & Laurels, to those individuals that demonstrate heartfelt
dedication and commitment to the university.
The UCI Alumni Association
presents the Lauds and Laurels Awards at formal
ceremonies each spring.
For nearly
four decades, Lauds & Laurels has honored more
than
600 distinguished individuals for their
accomplishments and contributions to the
university.
The generous participation of alumni and friends
in the Lauds & Laurels program allows UCIAA to
award more than $80,000 annually in scholarships
to meritorious undergraduate and graduate
students so they may pursue their educational
goals at UC Irvine.

AWARDS SELECTION
A
selection committee,
comprised of association volunteers and
members of the university community, selects the
recipients from a pool of nominations received
from the campus and community.
